Court of Dreams Institute of the Shadow Fae CN Crawford Books Reviews

  • What a great ending! I love Ruadan and Liana. She is hilarious and has a heart. This series was a rollercoaster ride and the ending wrapped up all the loose ends. I'm sad this series is over, but it was an amazing ride!
  • I guess all good things must come to an end, and so it is with the Institute of the Shadow Fae Series. C.N. Crawford does a fantastic job of creating fun and lively characters that pull you into their stories. They’re realistically funny, with dialogue that rings true. Snarky, trying-too-hard, sarcastic comebacks used as humor are as common in urban fantasy as skintight leather, and thankfully you’ll see very little of both in this series.

If you’re looking for gritty angst, you won’t find it here. Even though there is a good amount of gore and violence, there is a level of sweetness that is rare in the urban fantasy genre. Liora and Ruadon have all the requisite badass characteristics, but they each have a soft side that -rather than being a weakness- gives them strength.

The story arc is full of action, lots of little tasks that need to be completed before moving to the next step. Not a lot of mystery, but rather a trail of breadcrumbs the H and h follow. That’s really the only reason that I gave it four, rather than five stars. I didn’t feel quite as engaged in the action as I did in the other books. Great closure and a fantastic HEA. If PNR or urban fantasies are your jam, then do yourself a favor and pick this one up!
  • Wow...I really liked the first three books. They were a little funky at times, but the story was good and the whole "lost girl needs to find her family and learn she isn't a monster" was fun. This book just pulled out all sorts of weird stops. A saytr stirring magical brews with his penis, last minute rescues, couple-time in the woods, loss of clothes over and over, mom and dad who didn't look for her and don't realize she has grown up, and at the end "just fix it". Ok. So not a terrible ending, but not what I expected. Oh well...
  • This is a great ending to a fun and exciting fantasy adventure story. With sharp, we’ll-written characters and excellent world-building. You can never tell how the story will twist and turn as the heroes battle overwhelming forces as they try to stop the plot of a madman.
  • I hate when series come to an end but this one was done right! I am still greedy and I am still not satisfied because I want more!! Lol Props to C.N. Crawford for being an amazing storyteller!! Can't wait to read whatever you are writing next!!
  • I plunged completely into this story from the first page. i was right There with all the characters. There was love and jealousy and power and battles and so many other things that whirled through my imagination. I am still breathless from it all. The action never stopped, but there were also laugh out loud moments, and tender ones, too. I enjoyed every second of it.
  • I absolutely loved this book like all the rest!! Ruadan and Liora are so freaking awesome together. The conclusion to this wonderful series is to find Baleros and kill him before all the Shadow Fae die from the plague and he gets the world key. And Liora finally gets her happily ever after. So sad to see this series end!!! Well done lady
  • I'd recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a really good story. It's best to start from the first book and to read the set in the order they were written.
